Printable: Origami Frankenstein Doll

Printable Frankenstein Origami DollToday’s printable is an origami Frankenstein.  And for the Mary Shelley fans, today’s printable is an origami Adam.  This Frankenstein monster was created to fold up the same way as the origami kokeshi doll.  This doll can stand on its own and be used for a decoration, bookmark, etc.

Craft: Vintage Halloween Votive

DIY Halloween VotivesHere’s a craft project I created and published back in 2012.  I don’t have a witty introduction for it.  Simply, here’s the tutorial:

Supplies:

Glass candle votive

Tape

Scissors

Vintage clip art – The images that work out the best have a good amount of white space in them.  The clip art I used came from The Graphics Fairy blog. Here are the links for the Raven, Owl and Girl witch.

Standard printer paper

Electric tea light

Directions:

1.  Print images on paper.  You might need to adjust the size of an image depending on the size of your glass votive.

2. Cut image out and wrap around glass votive.  Tape paper together in the back.

3.  Add a tea light.

Printable: Ginkgo Leaf Origami Paper

Printable Ginkgo Leaf Origami PaperOne thing I miss about Connecticut in the fall are the vibrant colored leaves. Now I’m surrounded by California brown.  There are some trees here that have color but it’s nothing like the trees on the east coast. So today, I’m bringing a little fall my way and yours with this ginkgo leaf origami print.  If you’re not into origami, consider using this paper for scrapbooking or cards.

Printable: Vespa Scooter Origami Paper

origami pencil boxRaise of hands, who likes vintage Vespa scooters?  I personally have always found them charming. Perhaps it’s because I associate them with Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.  So when Dessy recommended a Vespa for an origami paper print, I was on board.

origami pencil box with vespa printSince the Vespa print is larger than usual, I made the origami paper larger.  The printable paper is 7in-by-7in.  I also made it this size so it would be easy to fold into a pencil case.  The pencil case origami instructions I used required the paper to be folded into 7 equal sections.  That said, the paper is still too tiny to make a functional pencil case.  However, it does make a cute case to fit little trinkets.
