Printable: Guitar Valentine Cards

Guitar ValentineBack by popular demand, Printable Guitar Valentines!

Over the past week, I’ve been receiving emails for this guitar valentine.  I’m sorry if I haven’t returned your email, I’ve just been really busy with life.  Last weekend I was in Carmel with my husband.  It was the first time in over 12 years that we were away from our children for more than one night! Crazy. I’ve also been shuttling children to school, practices, etc.  I’m heading up Art Night at our school again.  And last, I’m leading a Divorce Care 4 Kids class at our church.  But enough about me, here’s the directions to the guitar valentines:

Supplies:

Heart Shaped Lollipops

White Card Stock

Scissors

Hole Punch

Double Stick Tape

An Out of This World Valentine

out of this world ValentineI designed this outer space themed Valentine card in 2012.  You might have seen it in the 2013 February issue of Family Fun Magazine.  It’s one my favorite Valentines and I hope you like it too.  Directions on how to construct the this “out of world” card below.

Supplies:

Black Cardstock

Metallic Gel Pens

Super Balls

2. Using a separate piece of paper, cut out a hole slightly smaller that the diameter of your super ball.  Make sure the ball will fit inside the hole snugly.  Use this paper as a template to draw a circle on your heart.  Cut the circle out with an X-Acto knife.

6.  Punch a hole at the toe of the skate and tie a pom-pom to it.  If you’re using pre-made pom-poms, just attach it with a glue dot.  Done.

Valentine Cards with a Purpose

Positive Valentine CardsThis year I decided to change things up a little with our Valentine cards.  Normally I make a standard card that my daughter can sign and give out to everyone.  This time I plan on making them more personal and giving them a purpose.  My daughter will address each card and write something she likes about that child.   The cards read, “I like that you ________.” and she will fill in the blanks. It could be as simple as, “I like that you are kind”.    The emphasis will be on writing something sincere and positive.

I know this isn’t for everyone. If you like the idea, there are directions below.

Supplies:

White Cardstock – 8 1/2 in x 11 in

Washi Tape

Scissors

Parchment Paper

Directions to make outside pouch

1.   Cut a piece of card stock to 8 1/2 in x 2 3/4 in.  You will get exactly 4 strips out of a standard size piece of cardstock.

2.  Fold in half.  Refer to fig 2.

3.  Place two pieces of tape on the top and bottom of the paper with half of it hanging off the edge.  Fold tape to the back side to seal the folded paper together.

4.  Your paper should now look like fig 4.  Trim tape with scissors (refer to dotted blue lines).

5.  Decorate the top of the pouch.  Set aside.

positive valentine cards 2Directions for the Valentine card.

1.  Print Valentine card template on cardstock.

2.  Cut into eight pieces (refer to crop marks).  Make sure the crop marks are cut off.

3.  Place a piece of washi tape on the right side of the card with about one inch of it hanging off the edge.  Fold it over so the sticky sides of tape come together.  A little of the tape should be on the back side of the card.  This will be the pull tab for the card.

4.  With a pen, write pull on the tape.  Let dry.

5.  Write a message on the card and tuck the card inside the pouch. Done.

It’s a Bird…It’s a plane… It’s a Super Valentine!

Superhero Valentine 3Before anyone starts freaking out, let me just say I’m not ripping off someone else’s post. I’m actually ripping off my own post.  I even went as far as re-using the title *gasp*.  Back in 2011 I created this superhero Valentine printable which you may have seen on my other blog.  As I mentioned before, I’m slowly bringing some of my favorite posts over to this new site.
